Unconscious Bias From Awareness to Action
Our in-person and virtual course is based on self-reflection and discussion for further understanding. Participants develop awareness of how their learned stereotypes that are automatic, unintentional, deeply ingrained, universal, and able to influence behavior can lead to biased decision-making in the workplace. Building Cultural Competence: A Program for Leaders
This program develops skills for building bridges across the cultural and social divides in our region and our country. Our course measures the cultural competence of the participants, enhances participant understanding of one’s own worldview and cultural identity, including implicit/unconscious bias. We increase participant knowledge of differences viewed through race, ethnicity and gender and equip participants with tools for communication and behavior that bridge differences.
It is essential for leaders to be able to create inclusive environments so everyone is able to fully engage in the work. This multi-day program equips executives with the skills they need to create inclusive climates that motivate and engage their teams and organizations. Actionable frameworks and cutting-edge research enables participants to diagnose diversity dynamics in their teams and organization.
Leaders work on a real-life diversity or inclusion challenge they are currently facing and will walk away with an action plan and new insights to address their challenge. In this course, participants learn how to make disability inclusion an explicit part of your overarching business strategy. Starting with a broad overview of the role HR professionals play in addressing this issue, you will maximize workplace disability inclusion and minimize disability discrimination across the employment process.
Learners will discuss the importance of inclusion for people with disabilities, employers, and the business case for aligning disability inclusion with a company’s strategic human-capital, diversity, and customer-service imperatives.
Participants also dive into the implications of effective HR policies and practices in the recruitment and hiring process, career development and retention initiatives, and compensation and benefits programs. Finally, learners utilize metrics and analytics to measure the employee benefit of inclusion in your organization.
Autism At Work Inclusion
In this course, learners explore the emerging initiatives in technology to actively recruit and hire individuals on the Autism Spectrum. Participants will assess implications for human resource policies and practices in this area. Learners will identify opportunities and challenges encountered across the employment process in designing and implementing these kinds of initiatives, and evaluate the importance of creating a workplace culture that embraces a diverse workforce, including individuals with disabilities, and those who are neuro-atypical.
Participant will focus on effective recruitment, screening, selection, orientation, on-the-job training, and preparatory supervisor and workforce training for neurodiverse employees. Leaders will build a workplace culture inclusive of individuals who are neurodiverse with considerations for career advancement, retention, and performance management. Learners will explore internal and external systems to support success for those employees and use metrics and analytics to determine the program’s effectiveness at an individual and organizational level.

This course helps Workplace Wellness, Employee Assistance Plan, Diversity & Inclusion and HR leaders and individual contributors assess opportunities to include the needs of disabled workforce for optimal performance. Participants learn how to successfully engage employees in healthy lifestyles through prevention efforts and supportive workplace communities resulting in improved employee health and productivity, lower healthcare costs, reduced racial, ethnic and gender health disparities, and healthier workplace culture.
The Power of Social Connection for Workplace Wellness
